Cook Compression recently began operations in a new manufacturing and service facility in Suzhou, located west of Shanghai in Eastern China. Products are manufactured at the facility for the Chinese market, enabling Cook to serve the growing region with greater efficiency. The facility also has expansion capacity to meet possible future needs in other Asian markets.
The new Cook facility spans 11,000 sq ft and is part of a 70,000 sq ft complex that also houses other Dover Corporation operating companies.
Cook China currently manufactures valve assemblies, rings and packing, with internal metallic and non-metallic parts supplied from Cook operations in Europe and the United States. Cook also performs valve and packing case repair services in the same location. A second phase of operations will begin within a year adding full production of all ring and packing products.
New Personnel Enhance Customer Support
In related news, Willa Qu recently joined the company as General Manger of Cook China Operations. Based in Shanghai at the Dover China Regional Headquarters, Qu has responsibility for the new manufacturing operation in Suzhou and directs all commercial efforts as Cook continues to expand business operations in the region.
Qu brings over ten years of experience, most recently serving as China Sales Director in Dresser Wayne Fuel Equipment China. Willa Qu and her team combine efforts with Summer Xia, who provides technical support in the Cook China Sales Engineering department.
The addition of Qu is part of a series of personnel moves in recent months to increase customer service and technical expertise in China: Gu Ying Jun joined Cook as Sales Manger-OEM after 10 years of service with Hoerbiger; Wayne Ren joined Cook as Sales Manager-End User after 9 years of service with IMW; and Glyn Yin joined Cook as Operations Manager after 10 years of working experience in the mechanical industry, most recently serving as cell leader in Johnson & Johnson Medical.
